Union Health Ministry accepts multiple requests from Himachal

The Union Ministry of Health has authorized the Government of Himachal to procure 50 additional ambulances from the fund available under the ECRP-II (Emergency Response and Systems Preparedness Package). health).

The ministry endorsed this after Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur’s meeting with Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansukh Mandaviya in New Delhi on Thursday.

A state government spokesperson said the ministry had agreed that the state could now adopt brick-and-mortar constructions instead of prefabricated structures for the construction of makeshift hospitals if needed to combat the Corona pandemic.

He said that this decision by the central government would allow the state to create permanent health infrastructure. This would not only provide better and reliable transportation facilities for patients, but also ensure timely transportation of patients in any requirement. With that, the response time would be less than 30 minutes, he said.

The spokesman said that Himachal’s resource envelope under ECRP-II which was Rs 203.86 crore has been increased to Rs 240.56 crore at the request of the chief minister.

The Spokesperson further said that the Union Health Department has also endorsed the proposals to streamline the salary structure of staff under the NHM and also the engagement of additional urban ASHAs under the Additional PIP.
