Twelfth Step Ministry Raises Awareness for National Revival Month

Twelfth Street Ministry

Twelfth Step Ministry, a non-profit organization based in Preston Troughraises awareness about addiction and recovery for National Recovery Month.

National Recovery Month takes place every September to support new addiction and mental health treatment and recovery practices. The national month was created by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration in 1989.

Twelfth Step Ministry offers its services to those who struggle with substance abuse or behavioral addiction, or who know someone who does.

The organization holds more than 40 weekly meetings for 16 different addiction areas, including Alcoholics Anonymous and Families Anonymous. Meetings are free and do not require membership.

“Due to the anonymous nature of the groups we support, our organization is relatively unknown. We’re one of the best salvage resources in the Southwest region, and we don’t want to be a secret anymore. We welcome anyone who desires a safe and inclusive community in which to heal,” said Twelfth Step Executive Director Andrea Tabor.
