By Ruben Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) through the National Council on Drug Abuse-MOHW (NDACC) commemorates International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, also known as World Drug Day.
The actual day was Sunday June 26, but due to the weekend it is observed today.
The Ministry of Health has declared the 2022-23 theme to be “Addressing Drug-Related Challenges in Health and Humanitarian Crises”.
“We continue to advocate to protect the right to health of the most vulnerable, including people with substance abuse disorders and people who need access to treatment and rehabilitation,” said the MOHW.
“NDACC is also committed to continuing to share information about substance abuse through our prevention education services and outreach services; treatment and care resources are available.
The Department of Health and Wellness has contacted people who may need help.
