Bhubaneshwar: A three-member team from the Government of India’s Ministry of Energy visited Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) to take stock of the availability of coal at various railway branch lines, mines and develop a logistics plan to maximize the shipment to thermal power stations (TTP). ).
The team led by ERPC Member Secretary, Ministry of Energy, NS Mondal today concluded their three-day visit to the Ib Valley and Talcher coalfields after visiting various sidings and railheads mine.
The team appreciated that MCL rose to the occasion to meet the increased demand for coal by improving dry fuel shipping in sustained mode.
Member Secretary, ERPC, who was accompanied by SK Pradhan, Deputy Director, CEA and Swapan Ray, Superintendent Engineer, CEA, today visited Bhubneswari OCP to view the coal stock position as well as shipping operations of Spur 5 & 6, L1, L2 MGR Siding and the Lingaraj SILO system.
During their long tour the team had visited Spur 1&2, 7/8 and 9/10 as well as the Balram OCP coal pile yesterday while on the first day it covered mining and coal shipment in Basundhara and Lakhanpur region. of the coalfields of the Ib valley.
Expressing satisfaction with the availability and quality of coal at MCL, the team also gathered information on evacuation-related issues.
He noted that the availability of rakes at sidings should be increased as needed.
Encouraged by the availability of coal stocks at MCL, the team assured to initiate measures to improve rake supply as well as shipment via road and road-rail (RCR) mode.
