BICHKEK, January 11. / TASS /. Kazakhstan has declared itself ready to release the four citizens of Kyrgyzstan previously detained for involvement in mass riots in the republic, the Kyrgyzstan foreign ministry said on Tuesday.
“An agreement has been reached with the Kazakh side on the release of the four citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic previously detained,” the statement said.
A total of five Kyrgyz citizens in total were detained during the mass riots in Kazakhstan. One of them, jazzman Vikram Ruzakhunov, was released and returned to Bishkek on January 10.
The Foreign Ministry also confirmed that two Kyrgyz citizens died in riots in Kazakhstan, adding that it is currently working to obtain permission for relatives of the dead to enter the republic.
“Regarding the recent events in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic calls on compatriots currently in Kazakhstan to comply with the laws and rules of the state of residence, to resist provocations, not to participate in a conflict situation, avoid places of mass gathering of people and stay in their areas of residence, ”the statement said.
Since the beginning of January, more than 200 citizens of Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan have been evacuated from Kazakhstan.
