Highlights of the 2022 budget session: The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will resume today after being adjourned on March 16 for the Holi festival.

The Lok Sabha on Wednesday approved grant applications for the Ministry of Railways for 2022-23.

Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders (being considered as OCI cardholders) are eligible for a lifetime multiple entry visa to visit India. India, Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai told the Rajya Sabha in March. 16.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi has urged the government to end the systematic influence and interference of Facebook and other social media giants in electoral politics in the world’s largest democracy.

Highlighting the issue during the Lok Sabha Zero Hour on Wednesday, Gandhi said global companies like Facebook and Twitter are used to “shape the political narrative of political party leaders and their proxies”.

“It has been repeatedly made public that global social media companies do not provide a level playing field for all political parties,” she said. Gandhi referenced a report in Al Jazeera and The Reporters’ Collective claiming Facebook offered the ruling BJP cheaper deals ‘bypassing their own hate speech rules’ for election ads compared to others political parties and suppressed “the voice of all those who spoke against the government”.

The second half of Parliament’s budget session began on March 14 and will end on April 8. The first half of the budget session began on January 31 and ended on February 11.
