Bharat Dynamics (BDL) today said it has signed a contract worth Rs 2,971 crore with the Ministry of Defence.
The contract is for the supply of ASTRA MK-I Beyond Visual Range (BVR) air-to-air missiles and associated equipment to the Indian Air Force and Indian Navy.
Bharat Dynamics (BDL) is the only company in India involved in the manufacture of various types of missiles and underwater weapons for the supply of Indian armed forces and friendly foreign countries. The company also manages launchers, test equipment, missile refurbishment/life extension and countermeasures systems for domestic and international markets. As of March 31, 2022, the Indian government held a 74.93% stake in the company.
The company’s net profit increased by 1.5% to Rs 264.36 crore on a 22.6% increase in net sales to Rs 1,355.80 crore in Q4 FY22 compared to Q4 FY21.
The certificate jumped 5.10% to end at Rs 783.75 on BSE today.
