Ayush Ministry Secretary Rajesh Kotecha said the Ayush industry is “one of the” fastest growing sectors of the Indian economy.

Speaking to IANS on the sidelines of the ‘Sanjeevani- India Heals 2022’ event, he said the Ayush industry has grown 6 times from $3 billion to $18 billion over the past seven years since 2014 and continues to be “one of the fastest growing” sectors of the Indian economy.

“All stakeholders need to work together because this is a great opportunity and we need to develop an ecosystem of health service integration and adapt a pluralistic approach for Ayush,” he said.

The event was organized by the Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC) as a curtain raiser for “Sanjeevani-India Heals 2022” to promote India as a destination for “credible and holistic”. “India Heals” is a health and wellness initiative supported by the Ministry of Trade and Industry and organized by the Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC). It showcases India’s capabilities as a destination for healing and wellness.

It also provides a platform to promote Indian healthcare services globally and forge lasting partnerships between countries while unlocking numerous business opportunities in the healthcare sector.

The flagship SPEC event will provide a platform to forge lasting partnerships between countries in identified healthcare services and will focus on promoting India as a preferred destination for medical value travel.

“This is an opportunity to launch this flagship event which will help formulate appropriate strategies to increase the growth trajectory of existing and new emerging markets in India’s healthcare sector and ensure that India becomes the next best destination for medical tourism in the post-pandemic period. time,” said Sunil H. Talati, president of SEPC.
